First edition, octavo, half-title; very slight marginal toning and a few tiny stains; bound in original dark green publisher's cloth stamped in red; spine lightly sunned, headcap chipped, extremities bumped, lacking original dust jacket; Paul Pearlman Books label on front pastedown; 7 3/8 x 5 1/4 in.

[Together with] The Old Man and the Sea. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1952. First edition, octavo, first issue with "A" and publisher's seal on copyright page and no mention of the Pulitzer Prize he was awarded the following year; minor offsetting at p. 31; bound in original light blue publisher's cloth blind stamped with Hemingway's signature on front board, silver stamped spine; light sunning to spine and edges of boards, section of offsetting to endpapers; original unclipped first state dust-jacket; 1 ½ inch closed tear to front panel repaired with tape, tape reinforcing inner top edge and spine head, slight wear with a few chips to extremities, inside flaps toned at edges; 8 x 5 3/8 in.
